About this planer
The Powermatic 1285T is a 12-inch jointer with a helical cutterhead and an ArmorGlide finish, driven by a 1 HP motor that runs on 230-volt single-phase power. It is built for flattening and squaring stock along its edges and faces, and its helical head is designed to produce a cleaner cut than a straight-knife arrangement. It suits woodworkers who need a wide jointer and have a 230-volt single-phase supply available in their shop. Before buying, check that your electrical setup matches the 230-volt requirement, confirm the 12-inch width fits the stock you plan to work, and note that the configuration and contents of the box are not confirmed here.
