How We Pick
Where our information comes from
Product names, model numbers, prices and photos come from the retailer's product listings. Specifications such as voltage, brushless motor, battery platform, battery capacity, torque, speed, weight and amps come from the titles and descriptions in those listings. A value appears on a page only when a listing states it; otherwise the page says "not listed". We do not estimate or convert values.
How we choose which models to show
We list tools priced from $200 from established tool brands, with a working photo and a model number, and we merge the kit and bare-tool versions of a model into one page. Accessories, batteries on their own, outdoor power equipment, welding supplies and small hand-tool sets are not included.
How the picks are made
Our "best tool for the job" pages rest only on what the listings state. They sort the catalog by which tool type fits the job, what the key specification is, what the configuration includes and what it costs. A pick such as "best budget" or "best kit" says exactly which listed facts it is based on, so you can check the reasoning.
Prices and availability
Prices are a snapshot of the retailer's product feed as of the date in the footer. Prices and availability change, so confirm the current price and details on the retailer's page before you order.
How we earn
If you buy through our links we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. It does not change which products we show. See our affiliate disclosure.
